Research shows that participating in the arts is enormously beneficial for both children & adults & that opportunities to take part in inspirational music-making are dwindling in schools. Community choirs help to enhance confidence, skills & wellbeing & participation is transformational for many members, particularly after the isolating experience of the pandemic. Covid also had a devasting impact on professional musicians, especially early career musicians which led to many leaving the sector.
Creative Sussex will include a major community event with schools & singers of all ages performing with professional musicians. This transformative experience will build skills & confidence & open doors to further creative opportunities. Our vital mentoring work equips young artists with the skills to build lasting careers at a critical time in their development, including help to develop & deliver music workshops for primary schools to inspire the next generation of musicians & music-lovers.
