There is a wealth of evidence and ongoing research that demonstrates the positive effect of music and creativity on social isolation and mental health (ESCC, 2023). We believe that this is more important than ever, as the country is facing an unprecedented financial and mental health crisis, which is disproportionately affecting minority and marginalised groups, yet meaningful music opportunities for individuals to experience these benefits are becoming harder to access.

‘Voices from the Edges’ draws on a decade of experience working with Delta 7, a BAFTA-shortlisted band of learning-disabled musicians, to offer free immersive and accessible music sessions. Led by professional musicians in safe and supportive environment, participants with all levels of musical ability can come together, share their experiences and create music that tells their story.
