Situation
We know that quality, creative, social experiences are critical in the early years for the development of healthy brains. We also know inequalities in early childhood have lifelong impacts. Our city has one of the highest rates of children in low income families in the UK. With our community partners we will build on our hugely successful free family holiday activities and family warm hubs to help give all children the best start.
Solution
Our team of artists and programmers are experienced Early Years (EY) practitioners. Over the last 4 years we’ve worked with a local nursery & EY training centre to develop and share practice. In our large performance space we create immersive, sensory environments and our artists create invitations to explore and play. Our joyful pilot sessions earlier this year proved incredibly popular. We are ready to build on and embed this work.
