This wonderful scheme cannot currently meet demand. We work with volunteers to bring top quality shows to their community which increases people’s access to great professional performances; by financially supporting artists fees we ensure shows are affordable for all. We can support more communities bring the best artists to Somerset, but we lack the finances to do so due to widespread difficulties with arts funding. Take Art has received no increase in regular funding for 12 years.

We run a very efficient scheme; £5,000 raised through this campaign would lift us over our minimum running costs meaning we can significantly increase our actual activity. We would be able to deliver more shows taking place in more rural Somerset towns and villages. This means more occasions for people to come together, more work for artists, more money raised for village projects and more moments of joy!
