Freightliners City Farm is raising funds to support our local community to access and engage with the nature on their doorstep. The funds we raise will help to improve and conserve spaces for wildlife on the farm and deliver a programme of volunteering, family activities and community events.

Habitat and species loss as a result of human activity continues to reduce biodiversity in the UK and across the world. Our homes, urban life and work allow us little connection to nature. We need green spaces like the farm to provide refuges for wildlife and to engage people with the natural world. In Islington we have the least green space per head population and many people face barriers to the getting outdoors, benefiting from contact with nature and contributing to its protection.
We will bring local people together to create and care for a variety of habitats on the farm supporting nature conservation and London wildlife corridors. Providing people with free and open access opportunities to spend time in a welcoming, tranquil, biodiverse green space on their doorstep increasing knowledge and appreciation of nature. Activities will overcome barriers faced by people in our local community (eg cost, discrimination, disability) to enjoy and benefit from access to nature.
