    Situation

We address issues of: Equal access to the arts by offering discounts or free places to low income families Improving health and wellbeing through participation in arts activities Promoting social cohesion through bringing people together in groups and involving ourselves in wider community events such as the Christmas Lights Switch on and Village Fair. Providing arts activities on the High Street in an area of poor public transport links which prevents travel to urban areas.

    Solution

For access and inclusion we offer discounts for low/no income families to access the workshops. Research shows that participation in the arts improves health and wellbeing and the delivery of theatre workshops to children and young people contribute to this improvement, as well as promoting and encouraging social cohesion through involvement in wider community events. Having somewhere to go on the High Street ensures people can access the services in their own town without having to travel.
