We want to make sure that all people have access to creative opportunities at all stages of life - whether amateur or professional, familiar or new to the arts. Activities including residencies, courses, workshops, and exhibitions aim to improve wellbeing, skills and access to creative careers.

Access to arts and culture, and creative careers, is unequal. Those living in the poorest areas are 64% less likely to take part in cultural activities but benefit the most from improved health, wellbeing and education when they do. Global majority, disabled, LGBTQI+ and young people are under-represented in the arts - whether that is making art or working in the creative industries - and are often excluded from the benefits of culture.

The arts can keep us well, happy and lead to interesting jobs. ACAVA offers free creative activities, skills development and training for local people of all ages. We provide all activities, materials, and refreshments free of charge to remove financial barriers. Training, residencies and online professional development aims to help more disabled, LGBTQIA+, working class, and global majority people to follow creative careers, access training and enjoy arts and culture.
