Within Barnet areas of poverty are masked by the perception of a green leafy area. 1 in 9 of our young people experiences poverty & 52% of children and young people in Barnet are from Black, Asian/other ethnic backgrounds compared with 30% across England. For Barnet this is not evenly distributed with pockets of high need becoming a key challenge. This campaign helps give support through our network of trusted local grassroots charities reaching those in most need at a time of increased stress.

Many of our local charities are stretched to capacity and so we support them through running a centralised Christmas campaign and distribute over 2500 gifts to their young people, who are most in need, at a time when there is increased financial and family stress for these young people and their families also encouraging the young people to touch base with trusted local organisation at a time when they might need additional support.
