JCT - Joining Communities Together works with the most vulnerable people in Coventry. We are a Christian charity, serving those of all faiths and none. We specialise in helping those with experience of homelessness and refugees and asylum seekers. Some also have mental health and substance issues.

JCT – Joining Communities Together works with women who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers from a range of nations. They often face additional issues, such as mental health challenges or issues with substance misuse. Those living in hostels or hotels have no where to exercise safely, no way of meeting other women in similar situations, and no opportunities to make friends. This compounds the challenges they are seeking to overcome and can contribute to a downward spiral.
We piloted a healthy living project for women in 2023. We want to expand that project, testing what activities women most want and benefit from in January to June 2024. JCT has a large hall that is easily transformed into a place for exercise and friendship, as well as kitchens, shower and laundry facilities. We will offer a range of weekly exercise classes for women only to improve physical and mental wellbeing. The women will socialise and learn about healthy food choices for their situation.
