We provide funding for disabled people to play tennis. This may be a tennis wheelchair, coaching or equipment for groups. We mostly support those with a physical, visual, learning or hearing impairment.

    Situation

We specialise in supporting disabled people and disability tennis programmes. Over the years, we have helped hundreds of individuals, clubs and groups to access and provide tennis for disabled people. We do this by providing Specialist Wheelchairs, Tennis Equipment and Grants for Coaching. Our beneficiaries tell us what an amazing impact tennis has on their lives, not only physically but socially and mentally. Some players say that playing tennis has helped them to accept their disability.

    Solution

We provide grant funding - we have four application rounds per year and last year we were able to pledge just over £100K in funding. We always receive more applications than we can fund so we are looking for extra funds to allow us to help even more disabled people to play tennis. We have supported most of the Team GB / Wimbledon players when they were younger and are really proud of the help we give to people! We keep our application process very simple and provide help along the way.
