We organise major sports events for street children to raise awareness and challenge the injustices they face, aiming to achieve positive and lasting change for street children. In 2023 we will host a Street Child Cricket World Cup in India for 19 teams of street children from around the world.

Over the last 10 years, SCU has proved that lasting change can be won for street connected young people using sport and that major events are More than a Game when a tangible, lasting legacy can be achieved, on behalf of the world’s poorest. The young people we represent are campaigning for birth registration, access to education, protection from violence and gender equality and through the human rights workshops and general assembly at our events, we are able to give these children a voice.

In front of the world's press, The Street Child Cricket World Cup India 2023 will create a platform for our 19 teams of street children to speak about the issues and challenges that are most relevant to them and how governments, businesses and communities can support street-connected young people to contribute to SDGs 4 (quality education), 5 (gender equality),10 (reduced inequality), 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions and 17 (partnerships to achieve the goals).
