    Situation

In England & Wales: 1 in 4 women have been raped or sexually abused. 1 in 6 children have been sexually abused. 1 in 18 men have been raped or sexually abused. It is common for victims and survivors to believe that what happened to them was some how their fault. Often, this is because they have been told they were to blame. Victims and survivors tell us that they feared not being believed by the people they told. Sadly, this is often the case.

    Solution

We listen, we believe and we support. It is vital that victims and survivors get professional and specialist support when they need it. Our helpline is the first point of contact for many. 4 out of 5 people SARSAS support have a reduction in their trauma symptoms.
