Dreamland Education Centre in Kimilili lacks reliable water access and electricity. At the moment the school is relying on outside sources for its water needs. On top of this the dormitory only has access to small, portable solar panels which provide very little power to weak lamps, these lamps are used to illuminate corridors and bathrooms but are not suitable for studying. Students often struggle to complete homework in the evening because there is very little light once the sun goes down.

We will install a rain water capture system which will allow the school to harvest rain water reducing its reliance on other sources. We will also install mains electricity into the dormitory as well as a comprehensive lighting network. This will mean that students will be able to study and complete their homework even after dark. This project aims to address these critical infrastructure issues and ensure that students have the best possible opportunities without being hindered.
