Our mental health can be affected by many different things, but our finances, the cost of living, and the stress and anxiety that come with it, can have a big impact upon our mental health. We want to support more local people and families living in financial hardship to have better mental health.

Situation
We know people dealing with financial hardship are more likely to have a mental health problem - and people with a mental health problem are more likely to face financial hardship, with earning and managing money being harder to do. Worrying about money can make people’s mental health worse. It really can be a vicious cycle. Helping people is our overarching goal and to be able to do this for more local people is essential.
Solution
We’ll provide local people and families with a series of up to six, bespoke, one-to-one sessions with one of our money guidance navigators to help them develop strategies and a practical plan to help manage their finances, whilst providing emotional support and signposting to other sources of help . By providing people with the tools, ability and support to tackle their financial worries we'll empower them to better manage their mental health too.
