We offer a range of preventative services for older people and those living with a diagnosis of dementia. Our services include social, exercise and activity groups which run weekly or fortnightly. We also provide transport for those who health issues would make independent travel too complex.
Our vision as a charity is for friendly local communities where older people thrive. Our mission is to keep older people and those living with a diagnosis of dementia connected to their local community; alleviating loneliness and reducing social isolation, improving health and wellbeing and making communities stronger through volunteering. Our services are preventative and designed to reduce the escalation of need and to support people to live independently in their own homes.
Our groups are incredibly popular and provide older people with the opportunity to socialise, exercise and interact with their peers. For many, attendance at one of our groups can be the main or only form of social interaction or opportunity to leave the house that they have each week. There is a body of evidence that highlights the importance of maintaining community connections and the positive impact of the cognitive and physical stimulation that groups such as ours can provide.
