Hugely excited to be in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2023 raising funds to record our new album and tour concerts with our new baroque choir and emerging artists educational scheme ‘The Handelians’. We will perform unknown and more iconic works of Handel based around his amazing art collection.

Situation
Being a vibrant, diverse and distinguished group, London Early Opera wish to preserve musical heritage and bring long-lost baroque musical masterpieces back to life as well as perform more well-known repertoire to share with our community. Our specialist team of historically informed musicians share their skills and coach the choir and a large group of young musicians to perform and record with us, presenting a wide range of repertoire using scores we have re-discovered, researched and edited.
Solution
By recording an album with Signum Records, our new choir, musicians and students, we will connect baroque music with 18th-century artists and themes of Handel’s paintings and create replicable legacy projects including launch concerts, educational workshops, broadcasts and videos. We are a vibrant ensemble – an exceptional organisation with creativity, research and musicality through newly discovered works at our heart and we believe that music is the ultimate learning and sharing opportunity.
