Suicide is not inevitable and, in most cases, preventable. The right support at the right time can save a life. The Big Give will help us to give people and communities the skills and resources to have life-saving conversations with the people who need them the most.
Suicide is a major public health concern, with 1 in 5 people experiencing suicidal thoughts in their lifetime and 1 in 20 attempting suicide. Suicide is preventable if people, communities, and organisations work together. But stigma, lack of resources, and lack of knowledge can make it hard for people to take the first step in asking for help or asking if someone they care about is thinking of suicide.
We empower people to help save lives through educating, connecting, and campaigning nationally. Our training, free tools and resources and anti-stigma campaigns give people ways to cope and the skills to keep others safe. Our Stay Alive app provides a digital handbook of knowledge and resources so that anybody can reach out safely and find support. Our work means anyone can play a part in keeping themselves and others safe. This powerful, community-led model saves lives.
