Conflict and extreme weather have displaced millions of people across Eastern Africa resulting in death and suffering on a huge scale. The recent civil war in Sudan is the latest such event but all countries of the region are affected. A consequence of this trauma is lack of access to quality education and training so that young people are not able to equip themselves with the skills to build a peaceful future and one that addresses climate change and degradation.

We will construct temporary learning spaces for displaced populations to access education whilst also building school capacity to manage in crisis: this will include environmental training and action in schools, as well as training specialist education in emergency teachers. With 40 years’ experience and a unique relationship with local communities we are confident in being catalysts for change, multiplying the impact on a community scale and laying the foundation for a sustainable future.
