Population matters on the world stage so we want to take the population conversation to the United Nations. Help us make the case at two meetings in 2024, at the Population and Women's commissions, and host an exciting conversation in Nigeria bringing partners together to catalyse positive change.

For too long, our growing numbers have been largely ignored as a contributor to our environmental crises despite evidence of the multiplying effect we all have: each of our individual needs for space to live, to grow food, our use of natural resources like water; our carbon footprints. And, it is women and girls who bear the biggest burden of the effects of climate change and who can lack choices or agency to take control of their own futures and decide if, when and how many children to have.

Population Matters will take the population conversation to the United Nations on two occasions in Spring 2024 to ensure positive, empowering solutions to population growth and women's rights are on the table and help remove the taboo of talking about population, which is still scarred by bad policy examples of the past. Your support will also help host a Population Conversation event in Nigeria to gather a cross-section of people and organisations who are committed to creating positive change.
