James' Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis. Our work is urgent: suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 30 & 75% of all suicides are men. We provide specialist support which is free and quick to access to men who need us and are expanding our service across England.

Situation
The figures are stark. Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 30 and more men of middle age die by suicide than other causes. We know that at times of uncertainty and economic hardship, rates of suicide increase. We know that each individual death by suicide results in a life-time of devastation for families, friends and communities and it has been estimated that every suicide costs the public purse around £1.6m. This is a crisis in public health. James' Place exists to address it.
Solution
James' Place provides a specialist intervention to support men in suicidal crisis. Our first centre was opened in Liverpool in 2018, with a second in London in 2022. We have now supported over 1500 men through their suicidal crisis and helped them to find hope for the future and aim to save more lives by expanding our service & opening three more centres across England in the next three years. James' Place offers a unique service in a calm, welcoming environment. We know what we do saves lives.
