Hope Gardens is a Christian charity that runs 6 safe after-school clubs for marginalized children living in poverty in rural Southern India. These clubs support 180 children 5 times a week, offering them a place to be educated, learn, play, and be fed while their parents work late into the night.

Children in all the communities we serve are living in poverty. Parents are struggling to support their children as they often unemployed or have no fixed income and many are drug addicts or struggling with vices. Children are malnourished. Truancy in these areas are high as children are sent to work as maids or bottle pickers rather than school. Since Covid 19 their education has been disrupted and children are falling behind. Education is vital to lift these communities out of poverty.

Hope Gardens believes that every child should have access to education and our clubs provide the academic support that children need to boost their studies and their life prospects. We provide an inclusive, inspiring safe space for children to come and learn regardless of their personal circumstances. Many children are malnourished and our nutritious meals are essential to these children. We spend time educating parents on the importance of their children attending school and personal hygiene.
