Situation
Theatre Alibi have been taking high quality theatre into schools for over 40 years. We give children’s imagination the special value it deserves, because we see firsthand the impact it can have on their mental health and learning. With schools stretched to the limit, creativity has been squeezed out of the curriculum and of children's everyday lives. This especially impacts children who learn differently and those with less resources and stops all children from learning how to think creatively.
Solution
Our Centre for the Imagination for Children and Young people brings together years of experience working with schools and families and our strong partnerships with high calibre artists and performers. The building is being transformed with small people in mind, and will play host to workshops, performances, interactive exhibitions and activities which allow children to learn creatively. We will welcome school groups and families and ensure the space is safe, welcoming and accessible to all.
