Syrian refugee children in Iraq face the impact of long-term displacement, loss, trauma, loss of education and hope, resulting in long term mental health issues and increased vulnerability. The economic crisis exacerbates stress on families. Many struggle to provide for their families, which can result in child protection issues such as exploitation, child marriage, child labour, abuse and neglect. Children with special needs are particularly vulnerable and isolated.

Through running child friendly spaces in the camp meeting children's needs. We offer trauma recovery, child protection services, developmental support and educational opportunities for children. Our project complements the local school system and takes a holistic approach to addressing the needs of children in protracted emergency situations. We will provide targeted support to those with special needs and their families, ensuring their access to education, therapy, and combating isolation.
