The COL crisis is causing hardship for the 400 frontline organisations we serve as some 36,000 people rely on them for food & wrap around support each week. We need to intercept as much surplus food for them as possible, so they can cope with the sharp rise in need in their communities this Winter.

A shortage of food resources for charities, community groups and schools to cope with the level of need presented on a daily basis. At the same time, often in proximity to these organisations, we know that companies waste massive volumes of food each week. This food remains in-date and perfectly edible but perhaps has a short-shelf life, minor errors/damages or is not needed e.g. poor forecasting. Other reasons include mince beef that is not minced fine enough so Quality Control rejects it.

We have warehouses, vehicles and volunteers to both intercept and redistribute this kind of food, and currently provide 1,800 tonnes a year. However the 4M+ meals that provides each year still isn't enough. For every single charity we serve we need an average of 4 to 6 tonnes each year, so the work of identifying and intercepting this food is of paramount importance. Your support will enable us to travel further, work more hours, store more food and ultimately feed a lot more people in need.
