Over 2 years we have developed programmes reaching young people in schools and universities. Delivering training in over 100 schools, and training 237 student mental health advocates in universities. Feedback has been amazing and demand is overwhelming, we need more funds to reach more young people.

While public discussion of mental health has increased in recent years, most mainstream campaigns still focus on destigmatising mental illness, treatment provision and patient advocacy, which give young people no positive images to move towards or inclusive conversations to join. Popular knowledge about taking care of our minds also remains low compared to other areas of public health education, leading to increasingly poor mental health outcomes especially amongst young people.
Our participant-led training is grounded in peer-reviewed neuroscience and psychology, equipping those trusted by young people; teachers, youth workers and peer advocates with the knowledge and tools to customise and deliver the content for the young people they work with. Our positive approach drives young people’s engagement giving them the inspiration and skills to understand and look after their minds, the benefits of which last a lifetime.
