Anaphylaxis is a serious allergic reaction which can be life-threatening. Symptoms can start within minutes, and without warning. There is no cure for serious allergies. In the UK, the number of people living at risk of serious allergic reactions and anaphylaxis is growing, with approximately 2% of adults and 8% of children having a food allergy. 17% of fatal food-anaphylaxis reactions in school age children happen while they are at school.

Our work raises awareness of anaphylaxis and offers extensive resources that can be trusted. For individuals, we provide evidence-based information so that they can confidently manage their allergy at every milestone. Through our Safer Schools Programme, we equip schools with the knowledge and confidence to safely manage pupils with allergies, and offer tailored courses and toolkits for the health sector and food industry to improve the recognition, diagnosis and management of serious allergies.
