Even after increasing the number of children we support each week from 80 to 120, the demand for our service continues to rise. Over 80% of children referred to us have mental health challenges and are suffering with depression, anxiety, & low confidence & self-esteem. Without the right support in a timely manner there’s a high risk that children will suffer long-term mental ill health which will negatively impact on their futures.

We’ll use horses to connect with the children. Our programme will offer them a unique alternative to traditional interventions such as counselling that are often not effective with children we support. It will provide them with something positive to focus their attention & aid their recovery, without having to relive the traumatic experiences that led them to be referred. Initially many won’t speak–but they’ll put their arms around a horse & whisper in its ear-& the transformation will begin.
