People are living longer and staying at home for longer, with 96% living in the community. The health and social care system is overstretched and unable to offer support to delay or even prevent the need for statutory health and care support. Too often older people face discrimination and challenges such as loneliness, poor health, disability, and financial struggles that make ageing difficult and sometimes frightening.
