Violence against women and girls can have profound, long-term effects on survivors and people close to them. 1 in 3 women globally have experienced gender-based violence in their lifetime (domestic abuse, sexual exploitation, trafficking, servitude or honour based violence). Women and girls represent 65% of all trafficked victims around the world. As a result, their future remains limited and life can feel hopeless.

Using baking as a tool, Bramber Bakehouse empowers female survivors on the margins of society. We work holistically with women in a safe environment, providing a trauma-informed baking programme with integrated wellbeing support, person-centered skills training, peer support and a caring community. Female survivors are supported to break the cycles of poverty, violence and disadvantage, by developing their confidence, knowledge and skills to build a positive, independent future.
