The climate crisis is causing unpredictable weather patterns, leading to erratic rainfall and the worst drought Ethiopia has experienced in 40 years. Families are struggling to grow enough nutritious food on their small plots of land to break the cycle of hunger and poverty. Depleted soils, limited knowledge of improved farming techniques and lack of access to resilient-seed varieties, are impacting food and income security across whole communities.

Farming families will participate in training in climate-positive, sustainable agriculture like tree planting, soil erosion control, & water conservation to boost their yields & protect & restore degraded land. The provision of drought-resistant vegetable seeds & fruit tree seedlings will ensure families can grow nutritious food on their small plots & boost their incomes. Volunteer Peer Farmers will ensure long-term sustainability by training & encouraging community members to adopt new skills.
