Christmas is a time when families wish to be together. We would wish to ensure that patients and their loved ones can duplicate where possible how they would celebrate this time together if they were at home in an environment which feels comfortable and relaxed

Situation
We will be helping families spend quality time together at a very emotional and difficult time in people's lives and possibly it will be the last time a family will be together at Christmas. Working alongside patients and their families to meet patients wishes and goals is so vital to their emotional wellbeing, giving them the choice in their final days. Such special memories last forever and help support families during the process of grief through bereavement support.
Solution
We will decorate rooms and the ward areas with Christmas decorations and trees and provide a small gift for every patient. Meals will be provided to both patients and their loved ones. We will endeavour to meet any final wishes of the patient and the families to make the day as special as it possibly can be.
