Hear Me Out uses the connecting, empowering medium of music to improve the situation of some of the most marginalised people in our society – those held in immigration detention and asylum centres. Help us to support them this winter.

This winter, we want to do more to respond to a fast-changing immigration detention system. As the rhetoric ramps up and the system becomes increasingly harsh, we are seeing at first hand the huge practical and psychological difficulties people face and the dire shortage of support available. We are deeply concerned that this will lead (in many cases, has already led) to a crisis in mental health for thousands of people, many of whom will end up living in UK communities.

We are stepping up and transforming our response. Alongside our music programmes for people in this wider range of detention and detention-like settings, we want to wrap a package of individual support, to help people with the practical problems they face and stay at their side as they find their way through the huge challenges they face. “When I met Hear Me Out they evolved me. They started giving me hope with the little spark and fire that was within my talent of being a musician.”
