Amber will provide a temporary home for 40 young people across our 4 centres covering the south of England through the coldest months of winter. As well as a safe place to live and three meals a day, young people will take part in our programme of support to help them transform their lives for good.

    Situation

Last year, an alarming 121,000 young people were either homeless or at critical risk of becoming homeless. The causes of youth homelessness are varied and complex - family breakdown, leaving care, prison release or losing a private tenancy. However, most are also dealing with childhood trauma, mental health problems and substance misuse. Some have made a few bad decisions and because they lack appropriate support, their lives go drastically and rapidly wrong.

    Solution

We will provide a temporary home for at least 40 young people aged 18-30 through the coldest months of the year across our 4 centres. All the young people that we support will engage in our intensive, holistic and educational programme of support. Based on each person's strengths, our support helps them build the skills and confidence to move-on from Amber and find fulfilling employment or further training and a safe place to call home.
