India’s forest rangers work tirelessly to protect endangered species and threatened habitats, including the iconic tiger, yet are often inadequately equipped to do their job safely and effectively. They face risks from poachers, forest fires, accidents and from wildlife attack; tragically, ranger fatalities are not uncommon. Providing proper equipment enhances conservation effectiveness and ranger safety and raises morale for these essential frontline workers to know they are being supported.

Equipment will be provided to forest rangers based on the specific needs of teams in the different regions. The aim is to have a well-equipped workforce able to handle diverse threats across critical wildlife areas in India, monitoring wildlife and addressing threats such as forest fires, and human-wildlife conflict. Equipment may include waterproofs, backpacks, torches, tents, protective clothing and water filters.
