There were 2317 domestic abuse incidences reported to Bedfordshire Police last year. 1,794 victims were women, and 628 were men. Reports from Barnardo’s (2020) shows that a staggering 25% of girls and 18% of boys aged 13-17 have experienced physical violence from an intimate partner. Yet there are very limited services supporting all victims regardless of age and gender, with many only supporting female victims with limited provision due to financial cuts and capacity, leaving a huge gap in need

Our Horizons Plus programme provides targeted support for female, male and young victims of domestic abuse. This includes Liberty Group- for females, TALK:4M for males and bespoke one-to-one counselling for young people. We use therapeutic group work, individual counselling, wellbeing and peer support services for each individual focusing on mental health, skills development and behaviour change, enabling all victims to regain their confidence and self-belief to make positive life choices.
