We are in a water crisis. River Action is on a mission to rescue Britain's rivers from the cocktail of pollution plaguing them. By empowering communities local activists, raising awareness and pressuring the government, we will protect our rivers and make industrial polluters clean up their act!

Our rivers are dying and we are running out of secure water supplies. All of Britain’s 200,000km network of rivers are suffering from agricultural, industrial and sewage pollution exacerbated by climate breakdown. Simultaneously, the environmental protection agencies have been defunded, leaving polluters mostly unmonitored and unlikely to face prosecution. We need to take urgent action so we can protect and restore our rivers and wildlife, and secure clean water.
We are taking a holistic approach to tackle the crisis on all levels. First we work with local communities , empowering them to gather evidence of pollution and launch campaigns to rescue their river catchments. Secondly, we raise awareness of the crisis using engaging communications to make healthy rivers a voting priority. Thirdly, we pressure the government to step up and do its job through legal action, and we expose and pressure industrial polluters to clean up their act.
