If mums can’t cope, children suffer. The impact of which can last a lifetime. Life can be tough and parenting a challenge. And this is where Home-Start steps in, we offer volunteer-led support to help mums improve their confidence and build better lives for their children.

Situation
Home-Start helps families with young children deal with whatever life throws at them. Mums experiencing isolation, poor mental health, poverty or domestic abuse. Many mums reach out to Home-Start because they need either practical or emotional support, often it’s a mixture of both.
Solution
Supporting mums as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children. Home- Start’s ethos is that happy parents create happier children. Help is at hand. If a mum is struggling to cope we will match her with one of our local coordinators who will carefully match her with one of our home-visiting volunteers. Our volunteers, who all have parenting experience and have been safely recruited, will visit her each week, offering emotional and practical help.
