Since 1992 we have been supporting homeless and vulnerable people and their pets to rebuild their lives. Michael House is more than just a hostel, it's a home where people can move forward at their own pace, with the goal of living more comfortably in less supported or independent accommodation.

    Situation

The last few year's have been incredibly difficult for many. We've seen an increase in homelessness due to loss of employment, relationship breakdown and the added pressures of trying to juggle rising living costs, all of which have a direct impact on a person's mental well-being. Fluctuating financial costs also impact the running costs of our charity, so now more than ever it's important for us to adapt to new ways of fundraising to ensure we can continue to provide services to those in need.

    Solution

By continually adapting our service to ensure that we can provide a safe and nurturing environment, we support individuals to work toward overcoming personal challenges and trauma. Through creative interventions, 1-2-1's, small groups and outdoor activities, we aim to restore self-esteem and assist with life skills. Residents can also obtain accredited certificates of achievement by completing a wide range of learning units to help with their personal development or employment opportunities.
