Many young people are still feeling the mental health effects of the Covid pandemic, and this has been compounded by the cost of living crisis as young people remain socially isolated, disengaged from, or not attending mainstream schooling and anxious about their futures. Many of the young people we see cannot or will not engage with traditional office based talking therapies or educational interventions but do respond to being outdoors with horses at our safe, inclusive stable yard.

Through working with our horses, young people gain life skills, learn to build positive relationships with horses, staff & peers, & gain the confidence to re-engage with schooling & wider society, improving their mental wellbeing. They can earn AQA awards with us, giving them a sense of achievement & pride in their abilities. Young people learn some horse psychology & feel empowered by their knowledge of behaviour & reactions to body language & take this learning back to their daily lives.
