    Situation

Nepal’s caste system continues foster discrimination, inequality, and violence, especially for Dalits, the lowest caste, who make up of 14% of Nepal’s population. These inequalities are further exacerbated by issues including gender and disability. Harmful social practices such as early marriage and lack of access to education also limit opportunities for girls and young women to break free from poverty.

    Solution

Empowering women and girls to overcome caste and gender-based discrimination and end harmful social practices, equipping disadvantaged people and communities to create inclusive, sustainable, and resilient livelihoods. Your gifts will support two projects: In Siraha district, a community-based programme is establishing adolescent-led forums to drive change. In Bajura district, self-help groups (including many all-female) are addressing key issues of child and gender rights.
