Homelessness is a huge challenge this Christmastime. Issues like addiction, trauma, mental health problems and family breakdown need to be overcome as people journey out of homelessness. By donating to our Giving a Home Appeal you will become the hope for people facing homelessness.

Homelessness is a complex issue with multiple causes often requiring long-term professional support. 94% of people facing homelessness have suffered trauma - devastating events such as abuse, loss of loved ones, violence and addiction. Furthermore, homelessness itself is a trauma. Yet less than half of people have received the specialist help they need to tackle their trauma. Helping people access high-quality, trauma-informed support is essential in enabling them to journey out of homelessness.

The solution to homelessness requires more than providing a roof over someone’s head. It takes time, patience and trust to journey with people through such difficult times, reigniting their hope in the future. Our supported housing will help young people develop independent living skills. Our crisis centres will offer showers, clothing, food and friendship for people sleeping rough. We will empower women facing domestic abuse to find safety and help those aspiring to find employment.
