SJD is entering its most ambitious stage to date as we embark on a bold artistic programme with the standout feature a major new work which will premiere at Sadler’s Wells East in 2025 followed by a national tour. Our mission is to continue to offer ground-breaking, inspiring, and thought-provoking dance while adapting to a future without Arts Council funding which accounted by 30% of our income. With this new work we will continue to lead the way in the development of dance and offer outstanding performance opportunities to talented dancers and creatives. Our new production builds on the theme of revealing and crafting hidden histories that connects all our work. Histories that emerge powerfully from the margins of things through creative research. As a company led by a woman, a strongly female perspective shapes the way we look at the world.
