The younger generation faces a monumental environmental challenge that surpasses anything mankind has ever seen. Climate change is an issue that affects everyone and its impact is felt all over the world. Educating young people about this crisis is of utmost importance. Unfortunately climate change isn't taught within the primary school curriculum, despite 60% of children feeling either very or extremely worried about it and 90% of teachers thinking climate change education should be compulsory.
Through our virtual multi-school Arctic days, we teach primary pupils the science of climate change, the importance of the Arctic region, and help encourage sustainability. By listening to a real-life explorer, we inspire pupils about this amazing biome and connect our lives in the UK with our impact on life in the Arctic. Engaging many schools allows children to share their thoughts with a broader audience and unite schools across the country to tackle climate change as a national community.
