While a cost of living crisis upon us, we strive to continue providing Conductive Education sessions to children & young people with cerebral palsy. We believe that a child’s chance of overcoming the barriers of living with cerebral palsy should never be linked to their family’s ability to pay.

Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common cause of childhood disability, effecting 1 in 400 babies. Children with CP may also have a range of physical and cognitive impairments such as being unable to walk, being unable to talk and experience regular pain due to the severity of their condition. At least 2 out of 3 children with CP also have movement difficulties in one or both arms which impacts upon every day activities such as eating, dressing and throwing or catching a ball with friends.

Stick ‘n’ Step offers life-changing support to children and young people with cerebral palsy by offering free, weekly Conductive Education (CE) sessions. CE looks at the whole child; delivering activities aimed at improving motor skills as well as supporting social & emotional development. Children work towards realistic, personalised goals to become more mobile and learn key life skills: dressing/undressing, self-feeding, transferring from a wheelchair to a chair or sofa and even using a pen.
