Conflict in Sudan has forced thousands of people to flee to neighbouring Chad, one of the world’s poorest countries. Families are arriving with nothing, in need of shelter and support. ShelterBox is responding – providing up to 18,000 refugees with essential aid such as tents and mosquito nets.

Violence across Sudan has driven thousands of people, desperate for safety, across the border into Chad. It expected that 300,000 refugees will reach Chad by the end of year. Ongoing conflict, food insecurity and the climate crisis have weakened the ability of Chad to absorb the surge of people arriving every day. ShelterBox supported displaced families in Chad in 2018 and we are responding today. You can help ShelterBox to reach more refugees, with the shelter and support they desperately need.

ShelterBox is providing up to 18,000 refugees, mostly women and children, with tents and essential items such as solar lights, water carriers and mosquito nets. We know our aid can help families to protect themselves from the weather, prevent disease and regain a sense of safety. The tents will be used by multiple displaced families, arriving in a refugee camp before they move into longer term shelters. We need your help to bring hope to those displaced by the conflict in Sudan.
