All young people deserve to experience the joy of live performance, a chance to get creative and be inspired by the arts. Wiltshire Creative will remove the barriers by allocating complimentary tickets to shows, bursaries for youth theatre places and free workshops and activities through the year.

In Salisbury, socially and economically disadvantaged communities live in the shadow of high affluence. Over 4,000 families are living in poverty. For children, there is a need to develop life-enhancing skills of confidence, teamwork, self-belief and creativity to improve community cohesion, particularly due to school funding cuts for creative subjects. The young people within these communities have little access to cultural activity and it is likely to remain alien to their lives.

We will work with community groups and schools; all identifying a problem in accessing the arts. Through our youth theatre, work with schools and partnerships with other community organisations, we will sign post and produce creative events for young people - many of them free. These activities and opportunities will empower young people and their communities with creative activities (performance, creative and technical skills), improving wellbeing in a creative way.
