Music is for everyone - with rising costs everywhere, it is becoming harder - but even more important - for families to continue engaging in music. We are raising funds to support venue hire costs at the beautiful Nottingham Contemporary, where our Robin Hood Youth Orchestra rehearse every week.

Situation
Traditionally, youth orchestras were not designed to include all people, especially those who are the first in their families to play an instrument or are coming from more challenging backgrounds. Music groups are often too expensive, or do not have the right support in place for young people who need it to continue thriving along with their peers. The teaching strategies are not diverse, even the repertoire they play can exclude certain young people.
Solution
Music is for everyone - Robin Hood Youth Orchestra (RHYO) is proud to be representative of the city demographics. By providing a sliding scale fee system with subsidies on offer, free instrument hire, a diverse repertoire, and a focus on including young people's opinions and interests, extra support sessions for those who want it, RHYO is a unique youth orchestra that prides itself on inclusivity and making high quality, excellent music.
