Families with complex needs such as traumatic life experiences, poverty and mental or physical health concerns require specialist, trauma-informed support during their children's early years. Some families BWC works with who have multiple needs and potential safeguarding concerns are not linked into any support services. And without safe and affordable childcare parents on low-income struggle to access essential support such as mental health appointments, attend training or find employment.

ToyBox staff are experts in providing trauma-informed care and high-quality education to children from families living with multiple disadvantages. Subsidised rates enable mothers needing low-cost childcare to attend BWC and other local services. Parents and carers are offered advice parenting children with additional needs or trauma as well as support for applying and starting school, referring children with SEND, Educational Healthcare Plans, and applying for funding for childcare essentials.
