    Situation

Today in Manchester, nearly 7,500 people are experiencing homelessness. People come to us unable to pay for basic needs, having to make impossible choices. According to recent studies, food is what people sacrifice first to try and stay afloat. When people struggle to feed themselves, their mental and physical health are severely impacted. Without good nutrition and mental and physical health, they are unable to deal with other challenges threatening their ability to get or stay in safe homes.

    Solution

At the Booth Centre, we aim to set everyone up for success, starting with serving hot, nutritious breakfast & lunch in our Community Café, providing 3 of their 5-a-day. This is crucial during winter, a particularly difficult time for those affected by homelessness. Winter is also severely isolating and lonely for those without a permanent home, so our 3 Bees Café serves as an important social hub. Run by people who use our services, this safe space delivers support for anyone to move forward.
