To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Dunnes Stores anti-apartheid strike in Dublin 1984-87, we want to revive our ★★★★★ production of Tracy Ryan's STRIKE! and take it to theatres across the UK and Ireland, ending in Dublin on 19th July 2024; exactly 40 years to the day when the strike began

In April/May 2023, we produced STRIKE! at Southwark Playhouse Borough in London for 28 performances. It was watched by over 3,000 people and received 4 and 5 star reviews. The story is one of solidarity, personal sacrifice and resilience that is little known outside of Ireland, but one that inspires hope that real change can be achieved when people stand together against injustice. It's a story we believe deserves to be shared more widely in to honour the 40th anniversary of the strike in 2024

We plan to revive our production and embark on a 6 week tour that travels across the UK for 4 weeks and Ireland for 2 weeks. Our aim is to end in Dublin on Friday 19th July 2024 to mark the exact 40th anniversary of the strike beginning. The play is a powerful, funny, moving, educational account of the strike and over 95 minutes charts the journey of the strikers and strike that lasted 2 years and 9 months. Running in parallel there will be a separately funded online education resource.
